USW and Steel Manufacturerse Launch Ad Campaign

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The United Steelworkers union and steel manufacturers have launched an ad campaign to underline what they say is a connection between enforcing trade laws and protecting manufacturing jobs.

Called "Help Wanted," the five-week print and radio campaign will air in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and six other steel-manufacturing states.

Stand Up For Steel, a labor-management coalition, said Pennsylvania has lost 180,000 manufacturing jobs in the last five years, including 28,000 in the Pittsburgh area.

Among the manufacturers participating in the campaign are U.S. Steel Corp. and Mittal Steel USA.
